Before you start

Here's an overview of the process:

You'll need: a smartphone, a valid ID for identity verification at the exchange and at AlpsCon, and a sponsor code.

  1. Set up a wallet: Install MetaMask on your smartphone. It's your own wallet, only you have access to it.
  2. Buy crypto: Buy USDC and some BNB for fees on a crypto exchange and get both into your MetaMask wallet on the BNB Smart Chain. Go to guide
  3. Get started with AlpsCon: Connect MetaMask to AlpsCon, verify your identity with your ID (KYC) and contribute your USDC.

You can connect a hardware wallet such as Ledger to MetaMask right at the start or later on. If you connect it later, you migrate your ALPS tokens to it. You can find out how under AlpsCon → Transactions and Security.
